LONDON—August 4, 2005—SirsiDynix Corporation announced today that HSE Eastern Region in the United Kingdom recently selected the SirsiDynix Hyperion Digital Media Archive to add to its Unicorn® Library Management System.
The SirsiDynix Hyperion Digital Media Archive will be installed under the Microsoft Windows® operating system on the library's Windows server, which currently runs the Unicorn system.
SirsiDynix Hyperion is already used by a number of special libraries in Europe; however, this will be the first time it has been used in the context of Health Publications in Ireland and has the potential of becoming a national resource available on the World Wide Web.
Bennery Rickard, regional librarian at the HSE Eastern Region, said: "We are pleased to have chosen Hyperion to implement our project to digitize a large number of former Area Health Board, ERHA and EHSS publications. It will offer our users the opportunity to search the new archive alongside Sirsi iLink, our Web based library catalog".
