POTTERS BAR, England—November 1, 2005—SirsiDynix announced today that Wexford County Council in Ireland has launched the SirsiDynix Hyperion Digital Media Archive to add to its SirsiDynix Unicorn® Library Management System. The Hyperion Digital Media Archive will be installed on the library’s Solaris server, which currently runs the Unicorn system.
Fionnuala Hanrahan, county librarian, said: “Wexford County Council’s Local Studies Collection is the first area for application. This important resource has been under-utilized heretofore. The Hyperion module builds on existing in-depth catalog records and provides seamless access to full-text documents and images. The user has access 24/7. Provision is compatible with national programs that are driving development of cultural heritage collections.”
