MobileCirc Generally Released for Horizon and Symphony Customers

With the 2015.08 release of MobileCirc, we are happy to announce that the app is now in general release for both Horizon and Symphony customers. Now all these libraries can use MobileCirc to bring circulation services out from behind the circulation desk and into the world.

MobileCirc brings circulation functionality to smartphones, tablets, or any device with a web browser. Wherever you go, you can use MobileCirc to check items in and out, renew materials, and add users to your system.

MobileCirc also helps staff inside the library, with features for:

  • Inventory: The next time you walk the stacks to take inventory, use MobileCirc and a portable Bluetooth scanner to make the job go faster.
  • Weeding: When it’s time to declutter your collection, use MobileCirc to generate a list of titles that haven’t circulated recently. Use that list to mark items for weeding or set them as missing.
  • Holds Trapping, Transiting, and Pull List: Save time and paper by generating a holds pull list on your smartphone or tablet. When you scan an item on hold, MobileCirc will automatically trap or transit it, so you can bring it directly to the proper location in your library. And with MobileCirc’s receipt printing for your holds pull list, you can prepare your holds pickup shelf without returning to your desk.

And there are plenty more features to look forward to—planned additions to MobileCirc include further holds management and the ability to accept fine payments through BLUEcloud Commerce.
