For more than 30 years, SirsiDynix has delivered training programs to a global audience, helping library staff feel capable and confident in providing library services and resources to communities. Our instructional learning solutions are delivered in a variety of ways to address the diverse needs of your library’s staff. We’ve developed courses for each staff member, from basic and essential topics, to courses that meet more individual needs for a specific staff member’s role.

Training is typically a service delivered as a part of your maintenance contract with SirsiDynix. If your library has more in-depth or comprehensive needs, we offer a yearly training subscription, where training is purchased up-front for access to a variety of courses throughout the year, or an a la carte option for specific courses as needed. Training is available on-demand or in real time, with or without instructor interaction.

On-Demand e-Learning

We have developed an online collection of self-paced classes, accessible when it is convenient for you or your staff. An annual subscription to the SirsiDynix e-Learning catalog gives your staff access to a comprehensive collection of training courses to make them proficient SirsiDynix Symphony users.

The SirsiDynix training team continually evaluates the needs of our customers to provide training on topics most relevant to them. With everything from essential product knowledge to introductory courses by module (such as circulation and cataloguing work flows), e-Learning is available wherever you are, whenever you need it.

Instructor-led Training

The SirsiDynix Education Services team hosts more than 100 different instructor-led online training courses throughout the year. You can join a Web conference to interact with SirsiDynix experts as they guide you through live training. Just browse the course catalog, choose the courses most relevant to your needs, and register. Attend your course online and ask questions over the phone or through chat during the training session.

Instructor-led classes are available on a variety of SirsiDynix solutions, with some tailored to your specific library type. Courses currently offered include:

Hands-on Lab

Each of the 4,000 libraries SirsiDynix serves has unique needs. The SirsiDynix Hands-on Lab accentuates learning by providing interactive classrooms with SirsiDynix experts guiding your learning process. We have carefully designed the curriculum and training methodologies of the Hands-on Lab to maximize your learning experience and retention.

The Hands-on Lab experience features SirsiDynix instructor-based training, followed by access to dedicated computer systems for your staff to test and apply their knowledge. SirsiDynix training experts guide the process to ensure your staff is successful. Hands-on Lab courses currently available include:
