Over the past twenty years, the Library Integrated Network Consortium (LINC) has been working behind the scenes for libraries and their users in nine communities in the state of Illinois. LINC currently serves the following suburban public libraries; Batavia Public Library District, Bloomingdale Public Library, Franklin Park Public Library District, Geneva Public Library, Glen Ellyn Public Library, Itasca Community Library, St. Charles Public Library District, Villa Park Public Library, and West Chicago Public Library District. Over the past twenty years, LINC has seen tremendous growth in its circulation, and both title and item records.
Amazingly, LINC is limited to a staff of only four employees, and yet they provide their member libraries assistance in their day-to-day functions as well as the maintenance of their library automation software, introduction of new products, training and assistance with upgrades, and continuing the high quality of their cataloging efforts.
The Library Integrated Network Consortium has been partnering with SirsiDynix for more than ten years, first using the Unicorn ILS and then updating to our advanced ILS, Symphony. Dedicated to providing the best for their users, they are currently in the process of implementing SirsiDynix Enterprise for their Online Public Access Catalog. Because of the efforts by LINC, their member libraries are able to offer many of the library industry’s most cutting-edge products. They have implemented two mobile apps, Library Anywhere and BookMyne, as well as Social Library (the SD Facebook app).
We commend LINC and its member libraries for providing their patrons with the very best in library technology!
