LEHI, UTAH (July 31, 2014) – LOUIS: The Louisiana Library Network has extended its SirsiDynix Symphony community to include 33 sites since adding Centenary College and Northshore Technical Community College in 2013 and Xavier in 2014. LOUIS is also growing to include Our Lady of Holy Cross College and aims to add more technical community colleges in the coming years. Symphony is a driving force behind SirsiDynix’s BLUEcloud Suite, allowing libraries to benefit from efficient, intuitive technology with the flexibility to edit catalogs, fulfill user needs, accept debit payments, and more.

“SirsiDynix is proud to see BLUEcloud technology expand within the community,” said Bill Davison, SirsiDynix CEO. “Today’s libraries have diverse and complex needs; Symphony is able to meet these demands with its unique architecture to support multiple hardware platforms, operating systems, and databases within an ever-changing world of IT requirements. LOUIS’s growth is a great example of how libraries are benefiting from such a highly adaptable system.”

LOUIS’s growth is also testament to its recent integration between Symphony and EBSCO Discovery.

“SirsiDynix is a vital partner of LOUIS,” said Sara Zimmerman, Executive Director of LOUIS. “Since 2000, SirsiDynix has always listened to our needs and has respected the knowledge of the LOUIS staff. The Symphony system is well managed by LOUIS; it is improved upon by SirsiDynix, especially with the BLUEcloud products coming out, and by integrating with EBSCO Discovery, a product we have for most sites.”

Combined with SirsiDynix’s BLUEcloud technology, LOUIS’s growth is a great example of what next-generation library services can do.
