SirsiDynix and Bibliotheca Continue Strategic Plans to Benefit Joint Customer Base

January 28th, 2015

Atlanta, Georgia (Jan 28, 2015)—SirsiDynix, a leader in library and automation management technology, and Bibliotheca, a leader in RFID and bar-code based self-service technology solutions, enhance their strategic partnership to expand future integration of the companies’ products resulting in an improved experience for library customers worldwide.

Since 2012, SirsiDynix and Bibliotheca have been strategic technology and sales partners, maintaining close development initiatives to ensure both library product lines work seamlessly together.  Recently, both companies have expanded their commitment to strengthen this partnership.  The result is that the library market can expect to see further integration throughout the coming year to move libraries into the future and thin the lines between both patron and staff solutions.

Working together, the two companies have allocated the necessary development resources to deliver on their bold plans, as well as creating a 3-year view of integrations that will make the largest impact for library customers.  In 2014, through the development of liber8:connect™, SirsiDynix Symphony users are already experiencing a more meaningful and quick check-in and check-out process behind the staff desk.  With both development teams working together, they were able to achieve the same outcome of circulation activity with fewer steps involved for library staff in all Symphony Wizards.   In 2015, the same direct integration will be expanded to SirsiDynix Horizon.  This is one of many ways the two companies are working together to provide the best overall experience for libraries.

“We are excited about upcoming joint development activities that will benefit both our library customers and their patrons as we move into the future,” says Bill Davison, CEO of SirsiDynix.  “With this partnership, our ultimate goal is to make the experience of both library staff and users as cohesive and fluid as possible.”

“It is important for Bibliotheca to collaborate with SirsiDynix so that all SirsiDynix customers benefit from the fastest transaction speeds, from both the staff and end user viewpoint,” says Jim Hopwood, Group Managing Director of Bibliotheca. “We’re thrilled to enhance our deep integration work with the SirsiDynix team to provide cutting-edge solutions that span across both of our product offerings, ultimately ensuring a stress-free embrace of future technology in libraries.”
