Keynote Speaker: The Economic Power of Libraries: How to have meaningful funding conversations with policy makers and stakeholders

Policymakers, elected officials, and economic development agencies are all grappling with the economic impact that the COVID shutdowns have had on individuals and families as well as small businesses and entrepreneurs. Unfortunately, libraries are an often overlooked and underutilized partner in economic recovery and development programs. Recognizing the need to educate stakeholders about the powerful ways that libraries can support business and the workforce, SirsiDynix and EveryLibrary recently collaborated to create a suite of tools for library leaders to share with stakeholders. In this session, Peter Bromberg, EveryLibrary’s Associate Director, will orient you to the new video and resource while providing you with actionable tips on how to host effective funding conversations that are grounded in the story of the library’s positive economic impact in your community.
