August 4, 2016, Melbourne, Vic—SirsiDynix is pleased to be adding to the growing community of BLUEcloud libraries in Western Australia. Four libraries—City of Perth, City of Stirling, City of Belmont, and City of Greater Geraldton Regional Library—all on OCLC’s Amlib, have recently chosen to adopt SirsiDynix Symphony and SaaS. Additionally, the City of Melville, a longtime Symphony library has also chosen to adopt SirsiDynix’s industry-leading SaaS. These latest additions to the SirsiDynix family continue the robust growth in new name customers that SirsiDynix has been experiencing in 2016.

Perth, Stirling, Belmont, Greater Geraldton, and Melville are all public libraries that serve the communities of Western Australia. The five libraries, in addition to selecting Symphony and SaaS, are supplementing their BLUEcloud LSP with premier SirsiDynix solutions, including Enterprise, Portfolio, BLUEcloud Analytics, MobileCirc, and eResource Central.

Representatives from the City of Stirling and the City of Greater Geraldton praised BLUEcloud as ideal for meeting the unique needs of libraries. “SirsiDynix demonstrated a progressive and customer-focused solution designed to meet library patrons’ expectations,” said Rachel Jackson, Strategic Projects Librarian from the City of Stirling. “The OPAC with its customer-centric options and the BLUEcloud statistical and reporting functionalities were standout features, and we look forward to using Symphony.”

The City of Greater Geraldton Regional Library expressed similar views, remarking that, “Representatives from SirsiDynix demonstrated an interest in understanding the specific needs of libraries in our unique region. They were flexible in accommodating these needs and were able to present a satisfactory solution. We look forward to the enhanced functionality that the new Library Management System solution promises to bring, improving the user experience for both library staff and members.”

In addition to excitement for the user-centric capabilities of BLUEcloud, the Western Australia libraries remarked on the benefits SaaS will bring to staff, end users, and their libraries as a whole. City of Melville Coordinator for Library Services, Alison Mudgway commented, “SaaS will make it easier for us to implement the latest version of Symphony and BLUEcloud products and provide our library users with access to new discovery tools across a range of platforms.”

Commenting on the recent library additions, CEO Bill Davison expressed SirsiDynix’s excitement at the opportunity to increase services to the Western Australia region. “We are thrilled to have been chosen by four new public libraries in the state of Western Australia. The community of BLUEcloud libraries is a strong network and we are pleased to see more libraries joining. At SirsiDynix, we believe in the value and contribution of public libraries and are eager to extend our comprehensive software and industry-leading services in support of the good work these libraries do.”
