January 12th, 2015
LEHI, Utah (Jan 12, 2015)—Greater Victoria Public Library (GVPL), a 10-branch system in Victoria, British Columbia, has signed a five-year agreement with SirsiDynix. GVPL selected Symphony as well as multiple BLUEcloud products, including SirsiDynix’s discovery tool, Enterprise; their mobile circulation app, MobileCirc; and administrative interface, Universal Admin. Each branch will also benefit from a variety of next-generation products from the BLUEcloud Suite, including BLUEcloud Cataloging and its flexible cataloging capabilities, as well as BLUEcloud Analytics and its powerful reporting tools.
“We are very excited to work with SirsiDynix on the implementation of a new Integrated Library System,” said Daniel Phillips, Director of Technology at GVPL. “Greater Victoria Public Library is an extremely busy library system and we believe that working with SirsiDynix will allow us to increase staff efficiency and help us provide better customer service. We look forward to the implementation of the BLUEcloud Suite LSP in transforming many of our current services to a modern web-based platform.”
“We’re proud to welcome Greater Victoria Public Library to the SirsiDynix family,” said Bill Davison, SirsiDynix CEO. “GVPL chose SirsiDynix out of a number of solutions and we’re thrilled to meet their needs through our BLUEcloud Library Services Platform using Symphony as the foundation. I’m sure each of GVPL’s libraries will find—as so many others have—that these BLUEcloud products increase productivity and library usage.”
GVPL has a total circulation of over 6,000,000 items and serves nearly 300,000 residents in 10 communities from Victoria to Brentwood Bay, BC. Coinciding with its vision to inspire community enrichment for all, GVPL selected SirsiDynix Symphony over its previous ILS, Millennium.
