San Antonio Public Library Selects SirsiDynix Symphony

July 17th, 2019, Lehi, UT— SirsiDynix is pleased to announce that San Antonio Public Library has selected Symphony as their integrated library system. Symphony is one of the most widely-installed platforms in the world, powering thousands of libraries in over 60 countries. Its robust functionality, capable companion products, and open APIs and web services will assist San Antonio Public Library in delivering the best library user experience to their dynamic and thriving community.

As the seventh-largest city in the United States, San Antonio found that SirsiDynix had the solutions they needed to serve their large community of users. San Antonio Public Library chose Symphony after seeing the unique benefits it would bring to patrons and staff alike, including a great discovery experience, industry-leading mobile apps for patrons and staff, powerful analytics tools and more. With Symphony as their cornerstone, San Antonio Public Library will be adding components from SirsiDynix’ next-generation Library Services Platform, including BLUEcloud Cataloging, BLUEcloud Circulation, BLUEcloud Acquisitions, BLUEcloud Analytics, MobileCirc, and Symphony’s cloud-based client, SymphonyWeb.

“When exploring the systems on the market that could fit the needs of the San Antonio Public Library, SirsiDynix presented the most comprehensive, forward-looking solutions,” Ramiro Salazar, Director of the San Antonio Public Library, stated. “I am excited by the opportunity to modernize staff workflows and processes and continue to grow our community-centered services through these innovations and efficiencies. On behalf of the San Antonio Public Library, I look forward to building a relationship with a company that is viewed as demonstrating a clear, sustainable vision for public libraries across the nation.”

“We warmly welcome San Antonio Public Library to the family of SirsiDynix customers. We are grateful to be selected by them and look forward to working with them over the coming months,” said SirsiDynix CEO Bill Davison. “We believe in the power of libraries and we are honored to provide the software and services that help San Antonio Public Library to deliver that power to their community.
